About Me

I am a mixed-media artist and life-long crafter.  My art practice was mostly graphite, charcoal and ink - so when I stumbled upon some of Maria Thomas' amazing, abstract black & white creations, it was love at first site!
I have been enamored with all things ZENTANGLE since 2007, eagerly pouring over books and websites to discover new tangles. In October 2013, I traveled to Providence, Rhode Island to complete the Zentangle Teacher Training Program (CZT 12), and I am thrilled to be Winnipeg's first Certified Zentangle Teacher!

ABOUT TANGLED INKLINGS

The "Inklings" were an informal group of mostly Christian friends, including C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, who gathered regularly in the mid-20th century at Oxford University, to discuss and critique their works, which could include letters, manuscripts, artwork, dissertations, photographs, and the like. Tolkien is attributed to saying the name was "a pleasantly ingenious pun in its way, suggesting people with vague or half-informed intimations and ideas plus those who dabble in ink".

I do like to dabble in ink, both with written word and visual art, and a good many of my ideas are only half-formed, so I thought "tangled inklings" was a fitting name for my business and this blog. I expect it will be an (irregular, lol) outlet for my tangled thoughts, and thoughtful tangles.

I am currently teaching public classes through several organizations.
